League Builder didn’t begin as a theoretical software project. It grew out of years of actually managing recreational sports leagues and seeing firsthand where existing tools fell short.
Park Creative took that experience and built a platform around the way commissioners, players, teams, and fans actually interact with a league—from registration and scheduling to standings, stats, news, photos, polls, and weekly engagement.

The Challenge
Sports leagues often rely on a patchwork of websites, spreadsheets, email, registration tools, scheduling systems, and social media to keep everything running.
League Builder was created to bring those pieces together without requiring commissioners to become web developers—or forcing leagues into rigid, generic websites that don’t reflect their community.
Our Approach
Park Creative designed and developed League Builder as a modular platform where league administration, data, content, and the public website all work together.
A custom PHP/MySQL application powers the backend, while flexible league websites turn that data into schedules, standings, statistics, player profiles, news, photos, polls, and other interactive experiences.
The platform continues to evolve based on real-world league use, adding new sports, administrative tools, engagement features, and customization options as new needs emerge.

The new UVHL.com is more than a website — it’s the league’s digital locker room. What began as a small side project in 2003 has become an evolving platform that connects hockey lovers across Vermont and beyond, proving that passion and persistence can build something truly lasting — both on and off the ice.
